Ngandam seeks review of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation system in Arunachal
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Education Minister Honchun Ngandam has said that there is strong need to review the efficacy of the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system in Arunachal Pradesh.
In a review meeting of the education department on Tuesday, the Minister observed that while CCE was a well planned scheme for the schools but it has not met with success in the tribal state like Arunachal.
In the meeting, it was informed that even the Centre is reviewing the system and that Nagaland has done away with the non-detention policy recently.
Ngandam also call for concerted efforts for bringing changes in the educational scenario of the state. "We will definitely try to bring reform and some visible changes in department of Education', the minister said adding the Deputy Commissioners would be requested to take responsibility in monitoring education system in the districts.
The minister also emphasized the need of providing better trainings to the teachers through DIETs and SCERT and also maintaining the sanctity of the department, institutions, particularly seniority in posting of DDSE/Principal and other officers. The minister further said that hard working and sincere teachers should be awarded and at the same time action should be taken against the absentee and irregular teachers.
Expressing concern over the acute shortage of teachers in various schools, Ngandam informed that the department has proposed to create 2,000 posts of teaching and non teaching staff during the year. He further strongly advocated the teaching of moral science in the schools of the state.
It was proposed in the meeting to create a separate cadre soon for the teacher educators in the state. The meeting also proposed to take feedbacks from parents, academician, intellectual and civil society on educational matter through IT and social media for improvement of the education scenario in the state.
It was also informed in the meeting that the State Cabinet has decided to establish one Model School in each district as per announcement of the CM in his Independence Day speech.
In the meantime, the department has issued an order directing all DDSEs and BEOs to conduct compulsory inspection of schools in the districts every month and to monitor the academic performance of the schools, attendance and punctuality of both teachers students.
During the inspection the teachers and children of the schools will also get an opportunity to ventilate their problems and grievances, said a departmental release.
The DDSEs and BEOs will be required to submit their reports after school inspection to the concerned DC as well as the Director with photographic evidence, the release added.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Education Bidol Tayeng, Director Higher and Technical Education Tejum Padu, Director, Secondary Education Gania Leij, Director, Elementary Education Tapi Gao, SPD(SSA) Opak Gao, and other officers of the department.
Final solution to Indo-Naga Political conflict soon: NSCN GPRN
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Indo-Naga Political conflict spanning over seven decades is now at last on the verge of coming through a final solution, said a press statement from National Socialist Council Of Nagaland, Government of the People's Republic of Nagaland (NSCN GPRN).
The NSCN has a high hope that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and interlocutor Gol R.N.Ravi and the collective leadership, its members and the talk team of NSCN would apply its best wisdom to resolve the issue which is acceptable and honorable to both parties at the earliest, it said while informing that latest round of talks were held on Aug 19 in New Delhi.
Eustar Chishi Swu, Steering Executive Member and wife of chairman late Isak Chishi Swu participated for the first time at the talks held with the centre.
Appreciation of the difficulties of the opposite party has brought the two sides closer than ever, solution can be brought about only when reality is admitted and mutual respect prevails upon imposition of others will, it said.
The NSCN and the Naga people highly appreciate the centre for recognizing the sovereign rights of the Nagas through the Frame Work Agreement, it said while adding that there had been drastic positive change in the Indo-Naga peace process after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took over the rein. The serious and sincere effort given by both sides have resulted into the signing of the 3rd August 2015 Frame Work Agreement upon which the final solution is being worked out, it said.
12 traders booked in Changlang
CHANGLANG, Aug 24: The officials of the Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Affair conducted an unannounced checking at various shops and business establishments in Changlang town recently and booked 12 traders for violating various provisions under Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and Arunachal Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rule, 2011.
Five traders out of the 12 were booked for selling packaged commodities at a price beyond printed maximum retail price (MRP) and non declaration of mandatory information on the contents of the package while the rest of the traders were found non display of verification certificate in the trading premises as required under the provision of the Act and Rules.
The checking inspection was conducted under the supervision of Asst. Controller J Taijong. DIPRO
Festival for differently abled

ZIRO, Aug 24: The two days UMANG festival of differently abled children to showcase their hidden talents concluded here at Abotan Hall, Ziro on Wednesday.
The festival was organized by North East Zonal Culture Centre Dimapur (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Govt of India in collaboration with Department of Art & Culture, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.
Attending concluding day Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner Kemo Lollen said that the participants has exhibited their strength and ability through their performance.
He also advised NGOs and civil society to inspire such differently able persons by giving equal status in society and to respect them.
He appreciated the District Art & Culture Officer Dagi Angu and Leegang Anya a panel of member of NEZCC Dimapur for effective coordination in organizing the festival successfully.
Earlier, Angu while highlighting objectives of the festival said that differently able children have been given a platform to exhibit their talent and also provided opportunity to interact with other similar children in a very healthy and congenial atmosphere.
24 children from Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh participated in the festival. They displayed their talents in various field activities like song, dance, painting; handicrafts before the jam packed hall.
Yesterday, Punyo Paya, ZPM Niichi (Hong) kicked off the programme at Govt. Secondary School, Hong where the participants performed similar programme.
Youths demands early investigation

ROING, Aug 24: A group of youth from Hunli-Desali block, who had earlier lodged complaints of misappropriation of Government fund under various schemes, expressed disappointment over inaction of the Secretary Vigilance and Principal Secretary (Vigilance) in conducting investigation.
The group filed an FIR at Hunli PS demanding investigation into the alleged misuse, misappropriation and theft of movable Government properties under ICT Programme during 2007-08 to 2012-13, and also 'massive corruption' under the project 'Reconstruction-cum-realignment of Hunli-Desali road (23.232 km)' under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF-Xii) scheme funded by NABARD.
The then SP Take Ringu, following the FIR, had requested the Secretary Vigilance to conduct necessary investigation through Special Investigation Cell.
Also, in response to the complaint of the youth group regarding RIDF road work, DC Roing Ravi Dhavan had urged the Principal Secretary (Vigilance) to investigate the matter.
But, in spite of the directives from the SP and DC, the Secretary Vigilance and Principal Secretary (Vigilance) have not yet started the investigation process, the complainants said.
CM to expedite hydro projects in Arunachal
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: The Chief Minister Pema Khandu has assured NHPC Ltd to call a review meeting shortly to expedite the development of hydro projects in Arunachal being executed by the NHPC Ltd.
Pema said this when a team of NHPC Ltd, Itanagar, led by its Executive Director, Ronel Kumar called on him at his office chamber here on Monday last.
In the meeting, the NHPC Ltd team discussed various aspects regarding the hydropower scenario of the state with emphasis on Subansiri Lower Project and Dibang Multipurpose Project.

Begi seeks proper implementation of NFSA
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: The first meeting of the Arunachal Pradesh State Food Commission was held on Wednesday in the conference hall of the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education chaired by Dr Joram Begi, Chairman State Information Commission-cum-State Food Commission.
The implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) were reviewed and discussed during the meeting. Dr Begi urged the commission members and officers of line departments to seriously and dedicatedly implement NFSA as per the provisions under the Act.
He emphasized that the line departments should apprise the Commission about the workings of their departments from time to time for effective functioning of the Commission. He also advised them to appraise the commission about problems which are hindering the proper implementation of the act so that it can be taken up with the state government.
Begi while appreciating the sincerity of the department of Food & Civil Supplies reiterated the need of maintaining transparency and accountability in management of PDS to restore the lost glory of the department.
The Director Social Welfare briefed about the functioning of the Anganwadi centres and its activities while Director Elementary Education briefed the commission about the implementation of MDM scheme and impediment faced in its implementation in the State.
While participating in the discussion the members of the State Food Commission took strong exception regarding poor implementation of MDM scheme as well as functioning of the Anganwadi Centres in some places. Director Food and Civil Supplies Liyon Borang, while giving a power point presentation explained about the implementation of NFSA, constitution of State Food Commission, District Grievance Redressal Officer and their functions. He also shared about various activities taken up by the department for effective implementation of NFSA in the State.
Members of State Food Commission Eken Riba, Nanom Jamoh, Abraham K. Techi, Mathew Linggi attended the meeting.
NGT questions state Govts on appointments in pollution control boards
NEW DELHI, Aug 24: The National Green Tribunal today questioned state governments and Union Territories on top appointments in state pollution control boards and directed them to fill the vacancies with persons with requisite qualification within three months.
The green panel, which also issued a slew of guidelines for appointments to the posts of Chairman and Member Secretary, said the nominations should be of persons who have "special knowledge, practical experience or qualification in environment protection studies" and not on the ground of their association with state government.
"The State Governments/Union Territories shall constitute the Pollution Control Boards strictly in accordance to Section 4 of the Water Act and Section 5 of the Air Act, and the eligibility criteria...for appointment of Chairman/Member Secretary of the Board.
"State governments are to notify the rules under Water and Air Act expeditiously specifying the qualifications and experiences required for post of Chairman/Member Secretary.
The post of Chairman/Member Secretary should be advertised and thrown open for all candidates irrespective of the fact whether they are in the government, academia or in private sector, so as to attract the best talent," a bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar said.
The judgement came on a plea by Uttarakhand resident Rajendra Singh Bhandari, who had challenged the constitution of state pollution control boards on the ground that people who did not qualify were appointed as Chairman, Member Secretary and Members of these boards.
According to the plea, these appointments are bound to affect environmental issues seriously in as much as the grant of consents under Prevention and Control of Pollution Act and the entire regulatory regime depended on the effective working of these boards.
The tribunal said the states should have latest equipped laboratories for analysis of samples of trade effluents and asked the state governments to develop the infrastructure in the State Board by professional and technical officers to cope up with increase of industries and development centres.
The NGT said despite clear provisions of law, guidelines by the Monitory Committee constituted by the Supreme Court and directions issued by the Centre, the qualifications of the persons who were being appointed by the State Governments did not show much improvement which affects the working of the State Pollution Control Boards and was resulting in degradation of environment. Pema to attend NITI Aayog's lecture series
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Chief Minister Pema Khandu left for New Delhi on Wednesday to attend the NITI Aayog's inaugural annual lecture series on theme "Transforming India".
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first one of the lecture series on August 26, which will be addressed by deputy PM of Singapore, Tharman Shanmurugatnam on topic titled "India in the Global Economy."
Besides, eminent personalities from various fields like, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Chairman of FRBM Review Committee NK Singh, former RBI Governor Dr. Bimal Jalan and Chairman of NIPFP Dr. Vijay Kelkar are participating in the panel discussion.
The CM will also attend the festival of "Songs and Dances of the North East" organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh in Mumbai on August 27.
Rayang Unit to conduct firing practice
PASIGHAT, Aug 24: East Siang DC, Isha Khosla has on Wednesday granted permission to 1839 Pioneer Unit, Rayang to conduct firing practice from August 25 to 30 next from (8am to 3pm) at Raneghat firing range, near Dangoria Baba Mandir, Sille River here.

As part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations nationwide, the AWWA here commemorated the occasion with events focused on the empowerment of wives of the serving and retired soldiers of the Indian Army and 'Veer Naris' - wives of the nation's martyrs.
The three-day event that concluded today also featured various socio-cultural activities such as motivational talks and lectures highlighting contemporary issues and women's rights, a defence release said.

Org seeks to ban hunting, fishing and exploitation of forest and natural resources
PASIGHAT, Aug 24: The members of Ramle Banggo Social and Environment Protection Society (RBSEPS), led by its President Mohen Rina and General Secretary, Gokom Kambu, submitted a representation to the East Siang district Deputy Commissioner, Isha Khosla seeking an executive order to prohibit illegal hunting, fishing and exploitation of forest and natural resources in Ramle Banggo under 36th Nari-Koyu Assembly Constituency in East Siang
Ramle Banggo, which is the traditional name of the area covering the entire space of Assembly Constituency have in the recent years, up the ante on conservation of environment by banning all hunting and fishing activities for a period of three years. Notably, the restrictions are not only applicable to the outsiders but also the indigenous settlers.
However, despite such an environmental friendly decisions which were taken by the traditional village councils involving the Gaon Buras, PRI members, senior public leaders and supported strongly by the general public, there has been serious flare up on the subject from time to time, with violation of the resolutions adopted by the locals leading to social tensions.
Accordingly, in its memorandum to the DC, the RBSEPS has sought for an executive order in continuation of earlier order highlighting that, the rampant practice of illegal hunting and fishing along with exploitation of forest and natural resources not only hampers the environment but also leads to social disharmony.
Meanwhile, the RBSEPS members which also included Linli Kakki (Treasurer), Rari Riba (Joint Secretary) and Nina Kadu (Auditor) also met the local MLA Kento Rina, Chief Conservator of Forest (Central Zone) and the Divisional Forest officer (Wildlife) for the same.
On its part, the administration has agreed to renew the expired executive order at the earliest.
'Online Jansubidha Service' launched
PASIGHAT, Aug 24: 'Online Jansubidha Service' under e-governance service, which will help deliver PRC and TRC to the general public, was launched here on Tuesday by the East Siang DC, Isha Khosla.
Speaking on the occasion, Khosla informed that the initiative was taken by DIO, Debraj Singh and the software has been developed by NIC, Itanagar to access digitalized certificates in a transparent and time-bound manner. The system is in its primary stage but in coming days it would also provide ILP, ST and other certificates etc. through the hassle free online service, she said adding that the administration would scrap the previous practice soon as it sometimes lead to unwanted delay.

Mega Solung Football: CCFC demolish Takilalung FC
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Capital Complex Football Club (CCFC) registered a crushing 9-1 victory over Takilalung FC in a match in the Mega Solung Football Tournament at J.N College football ground, Pasighat on Tuesday.
Takilalung FC took an early lead within two minutes through goal from Katem Dai; but only to face the backlash from their opponents.
Stung by the early goal, CCFC came out with all guns and found the equalizer in 15th minute scored by Dungda Pui.
Besides Dungda Pui and Gyamar Kuku, who scored three goals each for CCFC Gakir Dulom, Dorey Kuku and Twa Akash also scored one goal each to complete the drubbing of the team.

APFA to conduct trials to select state team
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Arunachal Pradesh Football Association will conduct trials to select the State football team for the 7th Dr.T Ao North East Football Championship which will be held at Rajiv Gandhi stadium Naharlagun from October 1 to 12.
The selection trial will be held from August 28 to 30 at Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) playground.
State's senior coach Tarh Juna and Kipa Bharat will conduct the trial.
Labourer found dead
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: A semi-decomposed body of a daily wage labourer identified as Amamd Islam was found from an under construction building near F Sector Itanagar around 7:30 AM on Wednesady, a police said. Late Amamd Islam was a labourer who went missing on August 21, 2016, said police. An unnatural death case No. 16/16 U/S 174 CrPC has been registered with Itanagar Police Station. After the post mortem, the body was handed over to relatives and the case is under investigation, police added.
Drop charges against Aug 9 vandalism: Org appeals CM
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: In a two-point memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister on Wednesday, the Arunachal Pradesh United People's Front (APUPF) has demanded immediate cancellation of charges against all the people who were booked under charges of vandalism of government property in the Aug 9 incident and sought release of one Balo Hipik within 2 days who has been arrested under same charges failing which it has threatened to resort to democratic movement.
It further sought financial assistance for late Sai Bagang's family and C. Yangfo for her treatment at the earliest.
Workshop on Digital India
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: A one day workshop on Digital India was held at NERIST, Nirjuli on Wednesday.
There were 250 students participants from Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic, Itanagar, National Institute of Technology, Yupia, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nirjuli, VKV, Nirjuli and NERIST.
Debasish Goswami, Head SeMT, highlighted the evolution of Digital India and how it is going to impact the life of common man.
"The future belongs to the youths and hence youths have to actively participate in the popularization of Digital India upto the grassroots level," stated Prof. M. Muralidhar.
Digitisation is our future and all credentials will be available on the click of a mouse, said Dr. A. Dinamani Singh, Coordinator NSS, NERIST. He also emphasised on the ethical used of data.
The workshop was organized by the NSS Cell of NERIST in collaboration with National e-Governance Division (NeGD), DeitY, Government of India and State e-Mission Team (SeMT), Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
Association demands proper investivation
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: The All Joram Area Youth Welfare Association on Monday demanded proper investigation on hit and run case which led to death of Late Joram Take(35) who was working as peon at Deputy Commissioner Officer Ziro on August 20, 2016. It is said that late Take was hit by an unknown vehicle around 18: 30 hrs between Joram and Yachuli.
Condemning the incident, the association pressed for immediate nabbing of the vehicle responsible for death of late Joram Take. It also appealed to the district administration to compensate his kiths and kin by absorbing in job.
Weeklong education awareness campaign begins
AALO, Aug 24: A weeklong educational awareness tour organized by the United Students Federation to Govt. Secondary Schools of Pobdi, Nikte, Darka, Bagra, Kombo and Dego, was flagged off from Circuit House here on Tuesday last.

DC assures land donors
Seppa, Aug 24: Interacting with the land donors, East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Takuk on Wednesday while on a visit to the tourist lodge, Wessang FCI godown, Pampoli assured to look into the concern raised by them. He decided to discuss with the concern authority regarding road for Tagrung Yangje village through tourist lodge compound at Wessang. He also enquired about the status of land possession of the lodge and directed land department to draw proper demarcation and keep detail record of the area.
Taking stock of the FCI godown at Pampoli, he enquired about the storing capacity, electrical and water supply connection, and total area acquired for the godown. He further directed the DFCSO to write to the executing agency to complete the godown as soon as possible.
Enquiring about the progress of Trans Arunachal Highway work, DC directed the representatives of Sushee Infra Ltd to complete the construction of road from Pampoli to Bana at the earliest. He also took stock of the ongoing construction of bridge at Pampoli and asked about its completion date. DC also visited the citrus (orange) demonstration cum transit nursery of the horticulture department at Pampoli. DC was accompanied by Circle Officer Takam Nicholas, DFCSO Chukhu Jirjo, Seppa College Principal R Hissang, ADI N Doka, DTO (Tourism) T Sonam, AMDO K Dodum, UPO and other govt. officials during the visit. ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Governor JP Rajkhowa and Chief Minister Pema Khandu greeted people of the State on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmastami, one of the most important festivals of the Hindu community.
In his message, Rajkhowa expressed the hope that the sacred occasion will inspire one and all to imbibe the Lord Krishna's messages of love and the virtues derived from his sayings as enshrined in the Gita.
"May this joyous occasion further strengthen oneness in our society, promote and preserve all that are good and drive away all the evil forces, for peace, prosperity and happiness of all," the Governor wished.
In his message, the Chief Minister called upon all - irrespective of religion and faith - to celebrate the festival with true spirit of harmony and peace.

Demand to upgrade school
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Cultural and Literary Society of Mishmi (CALSOM), in a memorandum, has appealed to the Education Minister to upgrade the Govt. Secondary School, Tezu to Higher Secondary level to lessen the burden of ever increasing number of students in the lone Hr. Sec. School in Tezu.
CALSOM, in its memorandum, stated that there was only one Higher Secondary School in Tezu, which had to cater innumerable numbers of students, especially in Class- XI and XII much above its intake capacity. Due to overcrowding of the students, neither the students are able to attend the classes properly nor are the teachers able to do justice in doing their duties, the memorandum said.
"There are three sections in this class with having not less than 200 students in each section," it said and requested the minister to upgrade the school so that pressure on lone Hr. Sec. School could be lessened.
AKDDSU dismisses DC's claim
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: All Kra Daadi District Students Union (AKDDSU) has dismissed the Deputy Commissioner's press statement which claimed that the 12-hr bandh given by the students' union on Tuesday had failed to make any impact.
"The bandh call received a spontaneous support from all, including the business community. But, the Deputy Commissioner had tried to open the shops and business establishments with help of police. The DC sealed few shops, who did not comply with his order," informed the AKDDSU.
AKDDSU has been raising concern over alleged malpractice and misuse of power by the Kra Daadi Deputy Commissioner and demanding the State Government to post an IAS cadre as Deputy Commissioner in the district.
The students' union also appealed to the state government to direct the Deputy Commissioner to withdraw the sealing of shops and other establishments as the public has every democratic right to support or oppose the movement, said the union.
"Any failure on part of the government to fulfill the demands would compel the union to launch the second phase of the movement in form of 24-hr bandh call," threatened the union.
Women unite to speed up socio-economic development
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: About five SHGs with 56 women members of ESS sector of ward-12 here came under a single umbrella - Capital SHG Federation - to accelerate socio-economic development of the unemployed group.
National Youth Project (NYP) president H P Biswas while interacting with the group led by president Tasu Mayo (Miji) and IMC community organiser Tagru Amji exhorted them to be sincere in following the set objectives of the SHGs to avail all central flagship programmes including bank loan.
NYP vice president Pradeep Kumar cautioned them that bank loans are not gift but repayable and should be repaid honestly from the profit earned from activities taken up by the SHGs. This could be possible by strictly following the guidelines in maintaining the records, he added.
Tiranga Yatra organized
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: A Tiranga yatra was carried out from Ego to Old Dari village at the tomb of late Moje Riba and Moji Riba as part of the "Azadi-70 Yaad Karo Kurbani" programme organized by the state BJP at Dari in West Siang district on Tuesday last.
The programme was led by State Organizing Committee incharge, Dominic Tadar, State General Secretary and State Vice President, Kenyir Ringu, State Secretary, Vijay Sonam and Dungoli Libang. A huge gathering of senior leaders, general public and party karyakartas later offered rich floral tributes at the graves of the freedom fighters.
While addressing a public meeting the same day, State Incharge Organizing Committee, Dominic Tadar spoke about the programme initiated by the BJP and PM, Narendra Modi led government at the centre to remember and honour the great martyrs.
He further informed that the central government has fulfilled the long pending demand of Ex-Army men seeking 'One rank and One Pension' and other formalities are being completed to provide full-fledged pension.
On the occasion, Galo Welfare Society, President, Dr. Mitom Boje also submitted a two-point memorandum to the Prime Minister through the state BJP unit seeking rectification/inclusion of the name of late Moji Riba in the latest list of freedom fighters and funding for construction of multipurpose cultural hall-cum-museum at New Dari in memory of both the freedom fighters.
Old Dari village HGB, Nyadar Riba and senior leader Gumke Riba also spoke on the occasion.
The programme was also attended by APS to Kiren Rijiu MoS Home, Komjum Riba, State Secretary, Tagin Siga, former ZPC, Sippy Bagang besides, District and Mandal units of BJP, village elders and general public.
First phase of 'School Cleanliness Mission' launched
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: All Lower Subansiri District Student Union (ALSDSU) has launched the first phase of "School Cleanliness Mission" in Lower Subansiri district under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on Wednesday.
The first phase covered the schools under Ziro-ll block.
The second phase on September 14 would cover schools of Ziro-l block while the third phase on October 2 will cover schools of Raga block.
The cleanliness drive received good response, as the students, teachers and other staff were seen cleaning their respective school premises with great enthusiasm.
Hundreds clean up Donyi Polo premises
AALO, Aug 24: Hundreds of students, teachers, members of Donyi-Polo Dere Trust Committee and staffs of tourism department, West Siang district took part in a mass cleanliness drive as part of 'Swachh Bharat campaign at the premises of Donyi-Polo Dere here on Tuesday last.
The cleanliness drive was conducted by the department of tourism with the objective to keep Aalo town and its important tourist sites neat and clean and creating awareness among the people on cleanliness. (DIPRO)
BSNL urged to introduce 3G services at Mechukha
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: All Mechukha Sub-Division Youth Welfare Association (AMSDYWA) appealed to the BSNL authority to immediately introduce its 3G services in Mechukha valley in West Siang district.
Mechukha being one of the most sought after tourist destinations needs better telecommunication and internet services, the youth body said in its letter addressed to the General Manager (BSNL).
Though the machine and required equipments for 3G telecom services have already reached Mechukha, the installation works have not yet started; the association said and expressed its strong resentment over the BSNL's alleged delaying tactics.
Forum seeks cancellation of teachers serving as OSDs
ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Claiming that college teachers serving as OSDs in various department is main factor of teachers shortage in the government colleges, Arunachal Pradesh Colleges Forum (APCF) on Wednesday sought for their immediate cancellation. APCF members called on Education and Libraries Minister Hunchun Nangdam drawing his attention towards the issue. The college forum also sought for immediate posting of full-fledged Principal at Dera Natung Government College Itanagar. DNG College has been running without full-fledged Principal since past two years. It further demanded the Education Minister for creation of more college teachers/ assistant professors post to meet up the requirement of teachers across the state. Other demands including immediate starts of Arunachal Govt Law College,call back of college teachers engaged in deputation and immediate posting of education teacher at Wangcha Rajkumar Govt College, Deomali.
